Q -Sabi ng pastor namin kapag sunday service niya lang daw nakikita ang isang member of our church questionable daw ang pagiging kristiyano nito. tama po ba yun?
A - Nge!

Q - How can I tell my family na wala ng kasal.
Dahil nakabuntis siya ng iba.
LDR kami at sad to say hindi namin napagtagumpayan.
I have to heal without my family knowing it yet because hindi ko pa kayang sabihin.
A -
TELL YOUR FAMILY.
Now, more than ever, helpful sa yo ang support nila.
But time heals (nearly) all wounds. Magpakatatag ka.
Seek God's comforting and healing touch.
This, too, will pass.
Tito and your FB cousins are praying for you.
Q-
Thank you Pastor. I will I will. Thank you po. I don't know how to start but I have to.
A -
Just tell them. Begin telling only one person...yung pinaka close sa yo at pinakamadaling kausap. Then sunud-sunud na yan.
Q -
My mom or my sister po.
A -
Go girl. Iiyak mo na. Total Viernes Santo ngayon.

Q - Pastor. Isang maigsing advise nyo po saken im one of the considered elders sa group na sinisimulan naming group of Christians here in the middle east. We are establishing objectives. We are from different churches, different cultures, puro filipino lang po kame.

A -
Dapat habang nandyan kayo sa ME, walang magpopromote ng local church nila sa Pilipinas as special beneficiary ng church sa ME.
Pag nangyari yan, magkakaron ng competition among your people kung kaninong church sa Piliipinas ang tatanggap ng support from your church in the ME. Magkakagulo kayo.
Of course, if the church abroad was planted by a specific church in the Philippines, or if it is a fruit of a specific church's mission, it's only proper na yung "mother" church sa Pilipinas ang maging beneficiary, if ever, nung church abroad.
Pero kung nabuo ang church abroad na hindi mission work of any specific church in PH, dapat manatili itong independent of any church in PH, except if the majority of the members / leaders agree to do so.

A -
Do not listen to words / verbal language alone.
Watch the BODY LANGUAGE!
Kung talagang mahal ka,
ang gusto laging
- makita ka
- makasama ka
- makausap / makatext / maka-chat / maka- etc ka.
Pero kung puro excuses sa
- absence
- madalang na communication
- unexplained disappearances
- etc
MAG-ISIP-ISIP ka pamangkin.

Magpu-fulltime po ako sa church ministry. Any one special piece of advice?

 - Magpu-fulltime po ako sa church ministry. Any one special piece of advice?
A -
Have another /extra source of income.
- for retirement pagtanda mo
- sa ibang needs, like medical, housing, etc
HUWAG GAYAHIN ANG GASGAS NANG "God will provide"
motto ng mga walang solid financial plans or business projects.
Tapos, pag nangailangan sila,
- magpaparininig
- hihingi
- aasa
Ang maganda, yung financially independent ka from the ministry
o kaya may iba ka pang sources.

A TRUE VIERNES SANTO STORY

A TRUE VIERNES SANTO STORY
Minsang Viernes Santo,
Dinala sya sa provincial hospital;
walang specialist doctor na puedeng makatulong.
On vacation.
Walang doctor.
Itinuloy sya sa malayung-malayung Manila
where there should be able doctors
STAY EXTRA SAFE PAG HOLY WEEK;
WALA ANG MARAMING DOCTOR!

Q - Falling in love could also cause great disappointment and pain, HOW CAN I PREPARE MYSELF SO I DON'T GET HURT THAT MUCH?

Q - Falling in love could also cause great disappointment and pain, HOW CAN I PREPARE MYSELF SO I DON'T GET HURT THAT MUCH?
A -
Don't think of OWNING your beloved all for yourself.
It will NEVER happen.
There will always be other men and/or women to share your sweetheart with.
Laging may ka-share ke yun ay nanay/tatay, kapatid, kaibigan or --- brace yourself --- another sweetheart/playmate/ friend with benefits, etc NYA (na siempre secret from you)! Or sports, hobbies, interests, advocacies, religion, etc ----and all the people your loved one shares those interests with.
HINDI MO GANAP NA MAAANGKIN ANG MAHAL MO!
Yun lang mayron kang part/share sa kanya among the planet's 7 biliion other people, magsaya ka na!
AND:

A -
Conscientious preachers speak from conviction.
And preachers grow ( or retard) in their consciousness or convictions.
"I'm going there. Those who want to go there with me, join me!"
Ang tunay na leader naman ay hindi:
"O saan-saan nyo gustong pumunta?
Yung destination na pinakamaraming boto,
dun tayo pupunta.
Meanwhile,
you follow a leader if you want the general direction of his/her mission/journey and you don't desert him every time he takes a route that is not exactly to your liking.

Q - Di po ba dapat malungkot at mournful tayo pag Holy Week?

Q - Di po ba dapat malungkot at mournful tayo pag Holy Week?
A -
On the contrary, dapat ay thankful, grateful and celebratory tayo pag Holy Week (at sa lahat ng weeks!)
Inaalala at ipinagpapasalamat natin ang pag-ibig ng Diyos through Jesus!
We ponder and celebrate the victory of Jesus over sin and death!

A-
Feeling lang yun.
God loves us no matter what.
But God's love does not always equate to yes or instant answers to your prayers.

"Do not mistake activity for achievement."

A -
mas nagkakaron ng peace and joy, mas nagiging good, kind and loving
"You will know them by their fruits."

A -
bakit mahirap?
Q -
A -
hindi naman kaya sobra ang pressure na ibinibigay mo sa sarili mo to be perfect?
Q -
Di ba dapat po magpakabanal?
A -
madalas pang Pharisee and standards pati ng Christian.
Dapat matutunang i-appreciate ang kindness, goodness and understanding of God through Jesus.
kaya maraming Christians puro self-imposed guilt trip.
Impossible ang standards of holiness. Undoable for humans ---kahit pa nga believers.
Q -
Siguro nga pastor nakalilimutan kong tumingin sa kabutihan ng Diyos at inuuna kong makinig sa sasabihin ng iba about my personal holiness kaya na ni-neglect ko ang kabutihan ng Diyos.
A -
malamang na ganun nga
Q -
A -
Don't be too hard on yourself.
God is gracious, kind and full of wise understanding.

Ligawan mong muli.
Make her fall in love with you again / more.
Make yourself more and more attractive to her.
And improve your performance?
O baka naman she is just going through health / hormonal / other emotional issues. Pag ganyan, consult counselors and/or health specialists?

LINDOL Trauma / Fear / Phobia

LINDOL Trauma / Fear / Phobia
Q -
Isa po ako sa natrauma at naging victim ng takot ko sa earthquake nun June 1990. 6yrs old po ako. Nsa school that time at ng mangyari yun ay kasalukuyan pauwi na kami ng kapatid ko sa amin. Since then, nag-iba na po ako. And I wish makarinig po kami ng insight mo about sa nangyayari ngayon sa atin bansa and how you deal with your fears.
A -
1. Pray as much as you can / needed.
KAUSAPIN MO sya AT SABIHING MO:
KAYA THANK YOU, BUT NO THANK YOU SA REMINDER.
Huwag mo na akong paalalahan sabay takutin.
Bata pa lang ako noong una akong natakot kaya mas helpless and clueless ako noon.
THIS SHOULD BE A VERY EFFECTIVE WAY NA MAKALAYA SA PHOBIA, fear, anxiety, panic attack, etc. kasi ang fears ay dahil lang sa pag-alala sa past. Forget the phobic fears of the past.
Instead, always PRAY positively, thankfully, gladly.
Philippians 3:13 (NIV)
13....But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

A - Kung believer eh di handa na talaga anytime?!
Di ba ang tunay na believer, living a godly life?
SO ANU PANG PAGHAHANDA ANG GAGAWIN?
Matatakot?
Mag-aabang?
Real believers should live life as normally as possible, end times or no end times.
Do the most good --- always.
That would be readiness.
walang kalugihan.
But if you would suspend normal living,
stop all the works of normal life,
magre-resign sa trabaho,titigil sa schooling,
ibebenta lahat ng ari-arian at ido-donate sa end-time teacher/leader,
etc.
at sige na naman, resetting their end-time clocks till the next "appointed time" na naman.

AGREE.
I don't call such fellow believers unbelievers and i ask people around me to not use that derogatory reference.
The people you mention also believe in Jesus.
Last time I looked, it is faith in Jesus that matters!

Ideally, maganda kung maiba ang system:
1. WALANG SALARIED WORKER. Walang aasa sa sweldo from the church.
Puro volunteers na may kanya-kanyang hanapbuhay, even the pastor.
May sariling kayod.
Ganito ang dinedevelop ng DBD over many years now: Doubly Productive Pastors.
Magandang simulan sa new generation leaders.
2. WALANG BINIBILI O INUUPAHANG LUGAR at gamit na beyond the congregation's means.
A congregation should not be milked dry to send support to the leaders' favorite outsider-groups.
DO not squeeze Peter dry to give to John.

A - The verse comes from 2 Corintians 6:14, and it is usually misread, taken out of context and applied narrowly and oppresively.
The background is Paul's teaching on reconcialition with Christ. He contends that spiritually, Christians are new creations so they should change their lifestyles in accordance with that new identity.
-----
2 Cor 5. 17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come:[a] The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 20 .... We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. -----
But the Corinthians, by Paul's standards, were pagans and idolaters. As this was the background from which Corinthian Christians come, many of them were still attached to their original/former religious practices though they have become Christian converts. Paul thus urges them to detach from and leave their old, idolatrous lifestyles and get fully attached to Christ instead.
 -----
6.1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain..
14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial[d]? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God,and they will be my people.”[e]
17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord.Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.”
7 Therefore, since we have these promises, dear friends, let us purify ourselves from everything that contaminates body and spirit, perfecting holiness out of reverence for God.
-----
Paul urges the Corinthian Christians to detach from "unbelievers" whose religious practices like worship of Belial, idolatry, cultic temple sex, and whose lifestyles are characterized by "unrighteousness, darkness and wickedness" so their attachment to Christ would not be endangered or impeded.
Applying these verses to the issue of marriage today is a big leap in interpretation and far removed from the context of the original intention of the writer and understanding of the Corinthian recipients.
"To be yoked" in the original verses does not have a limited meaning to being married. It did not even specifically referred to marriage!
It's larger, contextual meaning was to be partner with pagans in their idolatrous worship of Belial, including ritual orgies and in their darkness and wickedness. (And not even all pagans were/are wicked!)
Another issue that needs serious review today is WHO is an unbeliever? In the original context of the verses, the "unbelievers" were the ones who worshiped Belial, involving themselves in lifestyles of idoltary, wickedness and darkness. They were the ones from whom new Christians were urged to separate.
WOULD someone today who believes in God the Father and/or in Jesus Christ be considered an unbeliever and be lumped with those Belial worshipers simply on the basis of sectarian/denominational/religious affiliation?
Should believers today deny themselves of choice and possibly very good
candidates for partnership in marriage or business on the basis of the overstretched interpretation of 2 Corintians 6.14?

Q - Di po ba dapat "You should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers?"

Q - Di po ba dapat "You should not be unequally yoked with unbelievers?"
A -

A - Catholics believe in Jesus. And even evangeical, born-again Christianity asserts that it is belief in Jesus that saves. So, saved sila by that standard!
Catholics are believers. I won't call them "unbelievers."

People who are full of self-hatred, self-condemnation, guilt, frustrations and self-anger need someone else to project their dark side on. People need "witches, heathens/unbelievers, perverts, strangers," etc to hate so they could divert their destructive energies away from their self-righteous and hypocritical selves.

Basta dapat laging may pinupukol, inaaway, winawasak.

Q – Shouldn’t Christians bless and help Israel fight her enemies?

Q – Shouldn’t Christians bless and help Israel fight her enemies?
A –
Jesus teaches and commands people to love and bless everyone,
including ---especially --- their enemies.
Matthew 5:43-48 (CEV)
43 You have heard people say, “Love your neighbors and hate your enemies.” 44 But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you. 45 Then you will be acting like your Father in heaven. He makes the sun rise on both good and bad people. And he sends rain for the ones who do right and for the ones who do wrong. 46 If you love only those people who love you, will God reward you for that? Even tax collectors[a] love their friends. 47 If you greet only your friends, what’s so great about that? Don’t even unbelievers do that? 48 But you must always act like your Father in heaven.

Brothers, sisters, families are divided not by unbelief in God but by overzealous belief. It is not the unbelievers who separate from believers. It is not the sinner who separates from saints. It is not the progressive who separate from the conservative. Look around and see who is unkind to and separatist from people they consider as beneath them in spirituality. Then look at Jesus and see who he befriended and fellowshiped with.

Jesus was killed not by unbelievers in God but by believers ---who held other ideas that they magnified to the point of leaving no more room for other points of view. Religious cruelty could come not from those who do not believe in the same God, but from those who believe but have other ideas on the details of how to approach or worship God. Nothing could be uglier than a fight among brothers. Stephen was killed not by unbelievers but by his brethren who did not understand the new wave of spirituality that was already in him but not yet in them. Before he was stoned to death, Stephen asked his own people: Acts 7:52 Contemporary English Version (CEV) 52 Is there one prophet that your ancestors didn’t mistreat? They killed the prophets who told about the coming of the One Who Obeys God.[a] And now you have turned against him and killed him. NEVER BE QUICK TO THROW THAT STONE.

Believers who become cruel to "unbelievers and sinners" are driven by their belief that God is cruel. Don't carelessly and judgmentally call people "unbelievers". Most of the time, "unawares" could be the more fitting description. They do not intentionally NOT believe by choice; most of the time, they are simply unaware.

A -
Hindi lang heroes ang ipinagdarasal.
Whether friend or enemy ang turing mo sa isang tao --- sa sinu mang tao--- mabuting ipanalangin sya o ang pamilya nya.
God teaches us to love our family, our neighbor and and even our enemy!

Matthew 5:44-48 (CEV)
(Jesus teaches)
44 But I tell you to love your enemies and pray for anyone who mistreats you.

Last time I looked, it is faith in Jesus that matters! Q - Bakit po walang High-End, English-Only service ang DBD?

Q - Bakit po walang High-End, English-Only service ang DBD?
A -
"High-End"?
We like to think that our services, for the Glory of God, are "high end" in terms of content, spiritual nourishment, maturity, etc.
But if by "high end" you mean "elitist",
Tito's calling is to serve the underserved :-)
Yung elitist "High-End, English-Only" crowds ay OVERserved na pamangkin.
Ang dami nang
- kanta written for them.
- books published for them.
- buildings made for them.
- preachers serving them.
Kaya halu-halo ang DBD people pamangkin,
from matronas to tinderas,
intellectuals to average thinkers
all types of God's people.
Tabi-tabi.
(A, B, C, D, E, etc dependingon economic status)
We want everyone to be together. like in the time of Jesus.
At kung mag-aadjust ng konti yung "Hi End, English Only" crowds
para makisalamuha, makihalubilo, makipagmabutihan at maki-isa sa
"less privileged" Jesus multitudes, eh di PTL"
JESUS LOVES EVERYONE! :-)
So everybody' is welcome, adjust-adjust lang dapat para one in Jesus!
And those that have more in life are better equipped to do the adjusting
than those who have less.
In ways we can, we are happy to privilege the underprivileged. :-)

Oo nga, Father God is the Highest, but
1. The fullness of God the Father lives in Jesus.
Colossians 2:9(CEV)
God lives fully in Christ.
2. Jesus is the only way to the Father. John 14.6

Tortured by all kinds of wounds that do not heal,
they could frame the world and life itself in very narrow and distorted ways.
Learn a thing or two from their sorrows
but never allow their bitterness to frame or filter your vision.

Traditions become traditions because they are effective and useful.

Traditions become traditions because they are effective and useful.
When those functions diminish or get outgrown,
traditions naturally die to give way
for new and effective ways to become the next traditions.
It is Quixotic to romantically revive dying or dead traditions.
But it is beneficial to document, record and archive
vanishing traditions, especially cultural ones, for information, reference, anchorage, mooring, guidance and inspiration.
This mission is served by researchers, historians, cultural preservation agents, museums, performing and other aristic groups, etc. dedicated to the preservation, re-popularization or promotion of anything traditional.
Meanwhile, everyone else should be allowed to move on,
to leave tradition in the museum or to reinterpret, recreate, reinvent and reform or refit it for today's needs.
In many ways, GANYAN DIN SA RELIGIOUS TRADITIONS.
