Pastor Ed Lapiz (Facebook Timeline) Isangf Tanong Isang Sagot
A -
Luke 6:45-46(CEV)
45 Good people do good things because of the good in their hearts.
Bad people do bad things because of the evil in their hearts.
Your words show what is in your heart.
------
People's words ---and actions --- show what's really in their hearts.
James 1:19 (NIV)
19 ...Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry...

The best selling book of all time,
The Bible seems to be the book most
- read but least understood.
- quoted but also most misquoted.
- studied but also the most twisted.
- used but also most misused and abused.
- used to defend/protect oneself and offend/attack others.
- most praised and maligned.
- unifying and divisive in its interpretation and application.
It takes so much divine guidance and human scholarship to
decode, understand, interpret and apply the essence of this awesome book.
Any astute "theologian" could find a verse to lean and stand on to construct or deconstruct schools of thought.
Even warring schools could both find "supporting" verses to justify themselves and villify their opponents.
Be very respectful and careful in making
- theologies
- philosophies and
- applications
of "Biblical" teachings, especially when lives and lifestyles of untrained and uneducated but passionate hearers-followers are at stake
A -
Maganda kung:
SILA LANG ANG NAGPAPASASA SA GANANSYA;
halos walang buting ibinibigay sa mamamayan,
tapos protected pa sila ng CORY CONSTTUTION from foreign competition.
A -
Most of the conflicts arise from the
- reading /misreading
- interpretation / misinterpretaion
- application /misapplication of the texts.
(Nearly) All who" kill or die" for religion think and believe they serve God by doing so.
The conflict arises from their differing scholarship.
Magkakaiba ng
- pagbasa
- pagpapakahulugan
yung kahulugan nito sa original writers and readers/hearers.
Remember,
the Scriptures were originally written for / addressed to specific recipients. Their life contexts gave meaning and application to the message.
Before killing or dying for a teaching,
examine first/ suriing mabuti:
Law of God ba talaga
o invented lang by people?
Gano karaming teaching ang "word of God" DAW
pero imbento lang pala ng kapwa-tao?
Proverbs 12:15 (CEV)
Fools think they know
what is best,
but a sensible person
listens to advice.
----
Mahalaga kung
- SINO ang adviser.
- kanino nakikinig
Yung gustong maging mahinahon at mapangtanggap at maibigin, may supporting verses.
A -
MANINDIGAN KAY JESUS!
----
John 1:14 (CEV)
14 The Word became
a human being
and lived here with us.
We saw his true glory,
the glory of the only Son
of the Father.
From him all the kindness
and all the truth of God
have come down to us.
----
-----
SURIIN ang bawat katuruan:
- Ihambing
- SALAIN
Jesus taught about NEWness: New
- Command (Love)
- Life (Loving)
- Wine (Teaching)
- Wineskin (Heart)
- Covenant (Based on Grace, not the Law)
- Creation (Person/Personality/Character)
Kung tama ang lahat ng OLD, bakit pa sya magtuturo ng NEW?
----
JESUS IS LORD.
Philippians 2:9-10 (NIV)
9 Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
----
HUWAG MALITO KUNG SINO ANG
- Lord
- Savior
- dapat sundin at sundan: Si Jesus lamang!
Luke 11:23 (CEV)
If you are not on my side, you are against me. If you don’t gather in the crop with me, you scatter it.
Politicians WHO RUN ON RELIGIOUS PLATFORMS should stay away from secular politics and become full time religious missionaries instead.
Then they could serve their God more directly and purely!
(Dirty politics would only make them go to bed with the devil.)
Separation of Church and State, remember?
If religious politicians won public offices, they are to serve the entire nation, not only their church. So they will either compromise their faith to serve everyone or they will (mis)use their office to promote their religion.
JESUS says
"Give to Ceasar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's." (Mark 12.17)
EVEN JESUS IS CLEAR ABOUT THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE!
That separation protects the state from religious interference and the religious from political pollution.
Q - Eh sino po ang dapat mamahala? Di ba mabuiti nang mga religious? ....
Q - Maganda po bang iboto ang candidates na very zealous and very public for her/his religious beliefs?
A -
Para magamit nya ang public office and power nya to promote your shared religious beliefs?
Pero baligtarin mo:
PANO KUNG IBA ANG RELIGION or religious conviction ng zealous candidate?
------
Public officials are to work and function for the WHOLE populace, for the whole nation. And the populace /nation is composed of people with diverse religions and spiritualities.
Hindi marapat na ang public servant , while using the powers of the State, ay maging "representative" and hitman of her/his religion against other citizens of different religious convictions.
Di ba tadtad ng conflicts, oppression and suppression of religious minorities?
Naranasan at nararanasan yan ng Christians sa maraming sectarian states where they are the minorities.
Ngayon, kung "Christians" naman ang ilagay mo sa gobyerno (not for their capacity to govern but because of their religious zeal which you share), babaligtarin mo lang ang sitwasyon. From naaapi, kayo naman ang mang-aapi? It would only be a different dog but the same vicious collar!
(In history, even Christians have not been known to be Christ-like when in power!)
----
Mas maganda para sa buong bansa at lahat ng mamamayan na pious public officials keep their piety within their own religious communities and in their private lives, not in their public office. Whenever they function as public officials whether as executives or legislators or justices, they must serve the whole society and not only their religious blocks. And they should not use the powers of the State to persecute other beliefs and believers.
2 Corinthians 5:20 (NIV)
We are ... Christ’s ambassadors...
---------
Ambassadors
- make peace, not war.
- use diplomatic, not offensive, language.
- create positive feelings, not negative ones.
Meanwhile, the Pharisees
- judge
- condemn
- oppress
people.
Christians are not to be the Pharisees' ambassadors.
The "normal" / majority could so easily become the mob that
- marginalizes
- trivializes
- demonizes
the "abnormal" / minority.
----------
Consider which of the two groups (majority/normal or minority/abnormal) Jesus
- went to
- fellowshipped with
- protected
- cared for.
Q - Bakit po may mga points of view / statements ang ilang Christians na based on Scripture pero very unloving and even cruel to some types of people ang application?
A -
APPLICATION of "Biblical" teachings are shaped by the INTERPRETATION of the verses.
Interpretation of the verses is shaped by
- KNOWLEDGE (or lack of it)
- SECTARIAN or CONGREGATIONAL THEOLOGY
- INFLUENCE of "teachers" and "preachers"
- PERSONAL OR SOCIETAL BIAS / PREJUDICE.
APPLYING VERY ANCIENT TEACHINGS (that developed in and were practiced by a very specific tribe in its specific context for its specific culture in a very far away time and place) TO THE LIFE OF ALL PEOPLES AT ALL TIMES IN ALL PLACES is bound to be full of problems.
Blindly adopting and following to the letter primitive tribal customs of a people who lived far far away in a time long long past will definitely produce a lot of tension, even pain, on peoples whose context is worlds and millenia away from the ancient source of tradition.
APPLY THE JESUS TEST/ FILTER in interpreting and applying Scripture:
Ask:
IS IT LOVING?
IS IT KIND?
IS IT RESTFUL?
Jesus is the only son and the only true representation of the Father.
He is the Way.
His way is the Way.
John 1:14 (CEV)
The Word became
a human being
and lived here with us.
We saw his true glory,
the glory of the only Son
of the Father.
From him all the kindness
and all the truth of God
have come down to us
Science could be God's ultimate prophet.
Science reveals the thoughts of God.
Natural Law expresses the will of God.
Before
- human priests,
- organized religion,
- man-made doctrines and manufactured images of God,
there was Creation pointing to and revealing
the Creator, that even those that do not accept human-crafted religious doctrines
have no excuse for not believing in the Creator.
Romans 1:20 (CEV)
God’s eternal power and character cannot be seen.
But from the beginning of creation,
God has shown what these are like by all he has made.
That’s why those people don’t have any excuse.
Q - tito i need help.. am i depressed? medyo madami ko problema sa personal life ko, but i put all my energy sa ministry. but then when i lead ministry it seems na mali ang lahat ng ginagawa ko ayon sa aming leaders. and i think i can't go on anymore. what should i do?
A -
rest a while from ministry. do some things that relax you and you really enjoy.
More than "atheists", sectarian theologians could be guilty of misunderstanding --- and misrepresenting--- God.
A -
pero kaya nyo namang gumastos, convince her to stay in the hospital.
Science is not an enemy of God
although Religion often makes an enemy of it.
(And Religion, Inc. does not always correctly represent God.)
Science is God's handmaiden and prophet.
Religious idols are not only man-made material (mis)representations of God who is Spirit;
Idols also mean mental (mis)representations of God like man-made
- doctrines
- ideas
- theologies
- religious formulas
- "Statements of Faith"
- Etc.
Anything that oversimplifies and misrepresents God, be it a material object or a mental construct, is an idol.
Isaiah 46:5-8 (CEV)
5 Can anyone compare with me?
Is anyone my equal?
6 Some people hire a goldsmith
and give silver and gold
to be formed into an idol
for them to worship.
7 They carry the idol
on their shoulders,
then put it on a stand,
but it cannot move.
They call out to the idol
when they are in trouble,
but it doesn’t answer,
and it cannot help.
8 Now keep this in mind,[a]
you sinful people.
And don’t ever forget it.
Science could be God's ultimate prophet.

CHRISTIAN CONSERVATIVES, DENYING SCIENCE SINCE 1633 ---February 13,1633: Italian philosopher, astronomer and mathematician Galileo Galilei arrived in Rome to face charges of heresy for advocating that the Earth revolves around the Sun, not the other way around. Galileo officially faced the Roman Inquisition in April of that same year and agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a lighter sentence. Put under house arrest indefinitely by Pope Urban VIII, Galileo spent the rest of his days at his villa in Arcetri, near Florence, before dying on January 8,1642.
Kaya po yung ibang types of people, hindi makadalo o AYAW dumalo sa prayer fellowships led by her.
A -
Magbukas ng ibang prayer events / fellowships led by other types of leaders!
Puede at magandang may iba-ibang prayer events / fellowships lead by different types of persons suited to different types of people and tastes.
Iwasan lang na magmukhang may competition.
APPLY this same principle sa ibang ministries sa church: Men's /Women's /Young Adults /Youth /other people/ministry groups.
HIndi naman kailangang isa lang ang group kasi may mga leaders na effective sa isang lang type of people but not with other types kaya napu-puera yung iba.
Q - Tito kating-kati na po akong magka-BF. Hilung-hilo. Sabik ba sabik.
Nilalagnat.
Bigo. Zero. Dahil kaya di ako kagandahan?
What can I do para magka-BF?
Ano po gagawin ko ngayong Valentine's day?
A -
So, wala sa ganda yan.
Walang nakaalam ng formula kung pano magka-love life.
So, habang wala pa, o kahit wala na ---do productive, fruitful, enjoyable, meaningful things with your life.
Ngayong VD?
If salvation is earned only by being a member of a certain religious group,
then NO ONE got saved before that religion was organized by mere humans?
CHECK THE DATE
of organization of any religion that claims to have exclusive franchise to heaven.
Even in the Old Testament,
it took ages and ages before organized, corporate religion was born.
Even Judaism was of a very late development.
So wala ring naligtas sa mga tao noong unang panahon?
Paano pa kung yung religion ay born only in the
- 1st Century?
- 3rd Century?
- 5th Century?
- 16th Century?
- 20th Century?
- Last Month?
- Yesterday?
Salvation has always been available way before corporate religions developed: Salvation is through an individual person's connection with God who at first was only partially and hazily revealed through the prophets but of late was clearly, definitely and perfectly revealed in and through Jesus.
Salvation has always been faith in God directly or through faith in the savior who was to come but without a name yet, then faith in the savior who has already come and with a name: Jesus!
Acts 4:11-12 (CEV)
11 He is the stone that you builders thought was worthless, and now he is the most important stone of all. 12 Only Jesus has the power to save! His name is the only one in all the world that can save anyone.
The name is JESUS, not the brand of any religion.

Always give yourself a strong, beautiful and pleasant reason to wake up in the morning.
Schedule an exciting, enjoyable, meaningful activity everyday!
Parang walang strong reason to go on living?
A -
Change the horizon or the path ahead of you.
Magbato ka ng excitement sa landas na tatahakin mo in the future.
Mag schedule ka ng events, activities, etc na me-e-enjoy mo tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, etc so you have some exciting things to look forward to.
Commit yourself to projects / causes you love, like and believe in.
Get close to or surround yourself with people who are motivated, active and with a big purpose in life.
Pray.
Commune with God.
Give yourself a reason to anticipate the future!
A -
Amos 3:3 (NIV)
Do two walk together
unless they have agreed to do so?
----------
Kung talagang malaki and irreconcilable ang differences:
1. Magsama-sama yung pare-pareho ang beliefs at paninindigan?
2. Maayos at matahimik na bumukod ?
3. Huwag nang siraan yung iba?
4. Huwag ipagpilitang i-convert yung iba?
5. Grow in faith in peace.
Kanya-kanya para tahimik?
Q - Dapat po ba akong maging concerned pag may nag-di-disagree sa aking philosophy or belief?
A -
Q - After so many years of active church membership, pagod na pagod, sawang-sawa, umay na umay na po ako sa walang katapusang mga gulo ng Christians within the same local church, against other Christian churches and against other religions. Pero mas marami po yung intramurals: troubles and conflicts within the Christian community.
What can I do. I love God but I hate the culture of the churches!
A -
Hindi ka nag-iisa sa ganyang pakiramdam.
1. Cut or minimize your personal involvement in such troubles and quarrels.
2. Alongside church involvement, develop a very personal spiritual life and growth.
Improve your personal /private
- prayer
- study of the Bible
- worship
- ministries like doing good to people, etc
A -
CONSIDER SOME OF THE PROHIBITIONS IN LEVITICUS and relate to each regulation the context and practice of many believers today:

Malamang, modern-day Pharisee ang teacher/leader?
Jesus on Pharisees:
Matthew 23:15 (NIV)
“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are
In the hands of self-righteous religious people,
verses become killing stones mercilessly thrown at people they judge as
"sinners".
Stones were used to wound, hurt and kill people judged by the religious as sinful
Those stones were the Law / Scripture / Verses.
Judgemental, self righteous religious people use verses as stones of death.
?
Judgmental religious people use Scripture / the Law / Verses to stone, wound, hurt and even kill people they accuse of sin.
Verses become weapons of mass destruction.
?
The judgmental mob had verse-stones in their hands: verses from Scripture that they turn into killing stones.
People found to be "guilty" of sin were stoned to death..
But Jesus did not let those people stone the "adultreous" woman to death.
Instead, he confronted the blood-thirsty mob with the same Scripture that could very well be used to stone them, too!
If people applied "the Law" on the woman, they should apply it to themselves as well.
The Law condemned everybody.
No one is righteous!
Romans 3:10(NIV)
10 As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one;
-----
Then Jesus wrote with his own finger on the ground/dust, did he write
another Law / the New Law: LOVE?
Seeing what he wrote and being confronted with the same verse-stones about their own sinfulness, NO ONE could stone the hapless woman.
Everyone was silenced.
The mob went away, probably thankful that they, too, have been spared from their own deadly verse-stones.
?
The blessing of the Lord makes rich,
and he adds no sorrow with it.
- Proverbs 10:22 (RSV)
Q - Tito ed? If you love someone ba ?
A -
People don't always identify religion / religious doctrine with God.

Q - When is it good to apologize for our speech/words?
A -
1. It is NOT necessary to apologize for the CONTENT of what we say,
especially if that is a statement of personal faith or belief or opinion.
No one needs to apologize for his/her personal opinion.
2.
It is necessary to apologize when what we say,
intentionally or unintentionally,
- is
- proves to be
WRONG and DAMAGES those who hear and believe us.
3.
Even if what we say is factual or a matter of personal belief/opinion, It is proper to apologize for the MANNER in which we speak; if the delivery
is needlessly offensive, hurting, insulting, demeaning or disrespectful to the hearers or the objects of our speech.
marapat mag-apologize. Not for WHAT was said but for HOW it was said.

GALATIANS
1
5 Purihin ang Diyos magpakailan man! Amen.
18 Three years pa bago ako pumunta sa Jerusalem para makausap si Peter. Two weeks kaming magkasama dun.
2
Si Paul at ang Ibang mga Apostles
1 After 14 years, bumalik ako sa Jerusalem kasama si Barnabas at si Titus.
Amen.

John 1.1-14
----------------------------
John 1 Contemporary English Version (CEV)
The Word of Life
1 In the beginning was the one
who is called the Word.
The Word was with God
and was truly God.
2 From the very beginning
the Word was with God.
3 And with this Word,
God created all things.
Nothing was made
without the Word.
Everything that was created
4 received its life from him,
and his life gave light
to everyone.
5 The light keeps shining
in the dark,
and darkness has never
put it out.
STUDY -----------------------------------
The "Word" refers to Jesus.
READ JOHN 1.1-5 AGAIN AND SUBSTITUTE "JESUS" for 'WORD."
WHAT DO WE LEARN ABOUT JESUS? (Answer yourself.)
NOTE:
Some seekers also try to substitute "the Concept Idea / Essence of Perfection"
with "the Word".
This approach opens up an interesting possibility in interpreting the persona and ministry of Jesus.
But many find simple peace in just substituting "Jesus" for "Word".
------------------------------------------------
6 God sent a man named John,
7 who came to tell
about the light
and to lead all people
to have faith.
8 John wasn’t that light.
He came only to tell
about the light.
9 The true light that shines
on everyone
was coming into the world.
STUDY:
John was to clear the way for Jesus.
NOTE: John is the FIRST PROPHET of the New Covenant = Love of God through Jesus.
-----------------------------------------------
10 The Word was in the world,
but no one knew him,
though God had made the world
with his Word.
11 He came into his own world,
but his own nation
did not welcome him.
STUDY
Jesus had always been the Light, but the world ---including the Jews and their religious system---did not know/receive him.
-----------------------------------------------
12 Yet some people accepted him
and put their faith in him.
So he gave them the right
to be the children of God.
13 They were not God’s children
by nature
or because
of any human desires.
God himself was the one
who made them his children.
STUDY
THOSE WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS BECOME CHILDREN OF GOD
- by faith.
- not by genetics/ biological birth.
- not by ethnicity or race.
- NOT BY RELIGIOUS AFFILIATION or membership
but by personal faith in him.
Therefore all who believe in Jesus become children of God no matter what their human / natural ancestry is.
*** People do not have to be/become Jews or any other race/culture to become children of God
----------------------------------------------
14a The Word became
a human being
and lived here with us.
STUDY
The "Word"/JESUS, from being God eternal, was born as a human being to be with humans and to turn humans into children of God (like him the Son of God) when they believe in him.
---------------------------------------------
14b We saw his true glory,
the glory of the only Son
of the Father.
From him all the kindness
and all the truth of God
have come down to us.
STUDY:
JESUS IS THE ONLY SON /IMAGE /REFLECTION /REPRESENTATION
OF GOD ---- NO ONE ELSE!
EVERYTHING THAT COULD BE KNOWN ABOUT GOD'S TRUTH AND KINDNESS
- HAVE BEEN REVEALED
- COULD BE KNOWN - IN / THROUGH JESUS /the Word.
Not through
- any other person / prophet / teacher . religious leader, etc.
- the religious system / teachings of the Jews.
NOTE:
IF THE RELIGIOUS TEACHINGS AND SYSTEM OF THE JEWS
were correct and satisfactory to GOD, why send Jesus /the Word to
- correct?
- teach?
- be sacrificed?
JESUS WAS SENT BY GOD BECAUSE
the world --- including and especially Israel --- was in darkness.
-------------
NOTE:
There are several layers of meaning or various ways to read and interpret who/what the "Word" is.
As much as people
- have eyes and ears, they san see and hear more.
- ask, seek and knock more, they will be given more, will find more and the door would be opened to them more widely.

----------------------------------------------- STUDY
Jesus -
The Word -
The Idea of Jesus -
Jesusness - predates John.
Perfection -
The perfection of Jesus - was the ideal for man / creation from/at the beginning.
----------------------------------------------
16 Because of all that the Son is, we have been given one blessing after another.[b] 17 The Law was given by Moses, but Jesus Christ brought us undeserved kindness and truth.
-----------------------------------STUDY
The Law was/is a curse; it condemns and punishes.
Jesus brought God's
- grace
- forgiveness
- favor, placing believers beyond the reach/ punishment/ oppression of the Law.
This kindness is the real Truth about God, not the harshness of the Law.
* Jesus came to reveal and give the true kindness and love of God, invalidating the effect of the Law!
** Jesus sets people free from the Law.
Note: If the Law / Traditions of the Fathers / Religious System was good (enough) why would God have to send Jesus to reveal the truth about him?
IN other words, the religious system was not correctly representing and presenting the goodness of and the truth about God.
-----------------------------------------------------------
18 No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is truly God and is closest to the Father, has shown us what God is like.
-------------------------STUDY
Not even the OT prophets and especially not the priests and the Pharisees had seen God. So, none of them could show / had shown what God is really like.
IT WAS ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY for Jesus to show and model the truth about God's kindness because all that the religious system presented was harshness and unkindness, even cruelty ---in the name of God!

John 1. 19 - 28 (CEV)
19-20 The Jewish leaders in Jerusalem sent priests and temple helpers to ask John who he was. He told them plainly, “I am not the Messiah.” 21 Then when they asked him if he were Elijah, he said, “No, I am not!” And when they asked if he were the Prophet,[c] he also said “No!”
22 Finally, they said, “Who are you then? We have to give an answer to the ones who sent us. Tell us who you are!”
23 John answered in the words of the prophet Isaiah, “I am only someone shouting in the desert, ‘Get the road ready for the Lord!’”
-------------STUDY
John
- clears the way for the true Prophet / Messiah / Lord.
- points to the true Lord.
People should believe in and follow the Lord that John identifies and clears the way for.
------------------------
24 Some Pharisees had also been sent to John. 25 They asked him, “Why are you baptizing people, if you are not the Messiah or Elijah or the Prophet?”
26 John told them, “I use water to baptize people. But here with you is someone you don’t know.27 Even though I came first, I am not good enough to untie his sandals.” 28 John said this as he was baptizing east of the Jordan River in Bethany.[d
--------------- STUDY
John places himself --- and all other prohets before him ---under the supreme position of the Lord he clears the way for and identifies.
----------------------------
The Lamb of God
John 1.29 - 34
29 The next day, John saw Jesus coming toward him and said:
Here is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! 30 He is the one I told you about when I said, “Someone else will come. He is greater than I am, because he was alive before I was born.” 31 I didn’t know who he was. But I came to baptize you with water, so that everyone in Israel would see him.
32 I was there and saw the Spirit come down on him like a dove from heaven. And the Spirit stayed on him. 33 Before this I didn’t know who he was. But the one who sent me to baptize with water had told me, “You will see the Spirit come down and stay on someone. Then you will know that he is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.” 34 I saw this happen, and I tell you that he is the Son of God.
------------------ STUDY
John identifies Jesus as the Lord / Lamb of God / Prophet of Prophets / the Savior.
* Jesus takes away the sin of the world by
1. paying for all sins himself.
2. Invalidating the unloving Law and replacing with with the Law of Love (Grace and Forgiveness).
That was a very revolutionary revelation and teaching.
It was like John and Jesus against the (Jewish Law / Tradition / Religious System) WORLD.

Matthew 9:16-17 (CEV) Jesus:
16 No one uses a new piece of cloth to patch old clothes. The patch would shrink and tear a bigger hole.
17 No one pours new wine into old wineskins. The wine would swell and burst the old skins.[a] Then the wine would be lost, and the skins would be ruined. New wine must be put into new wineskins. Both the skins and the wine will then be safe.

Galatians 3:23-29 (CEV)
23 The Law controlled us and kept us under its power until the time came when we would have faith. 24 In fact, the Law was our teacher. It was supposed to teach us until we had faith and were acceptable to God. 25 But once a person has learned to have faith, there is no more need to have the Law as a teacher.
26 All of you are God's children because of your faith in Christ Jesus. 27 And when you were baptized, it was as though you had put on Christ in the same way you put on new clothes. 28 Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman. 29 So if you belong to Christ, you are now part of Abraham's family,[a] and you will be given what God has promised.

Isang Tanong Isang Sagot by Pastor Ed Lapiz
A -
1. Baka walang masyadong funds lately?
3. Baka may iba syang pinagkaka-abalahan?
4. Baka bored / sawa na sya?
The challenge for enlightened and evolved thinkers are to:
1. Share enlightenment with others and possibly
a. Shock / disorient / disturb them.
b. Get misunderstood and vilified
c. Get at least some to be enlightened too.
2. Keep the light to themselves and at least stay safe and peaceful from attacks of the mob who love darkness.
3. Fly trial balloons of new ideas and test the wind/ the mob.
Some truly enlightened ones stick their heads out; some bury their heads in the sand, hoping to play it safe.
When you hear an idea that is
- new
- foreign to you
- different from your thought /belief
there is no need to always
- go against it
- demolish it
- replace it with "your truth".
Just consider it.
Let is tease, challenge, enhance your mind.
Process it right away OR freeze it for now till you are ready and willing to really study it.
People develop and grow more WHEN they "change" their mind --- when they receive new wine in new wine skins than WHEN they just stubbornly cling to old wine in their old wineskins.
A -
Sa bachelor's/ college course
you learn the basics.
YOU LEARN TO BE EQUIPPED TO LEARN MORE.
*
*
Sa doctoral / post-graduate studies,
you use what you learned in college and masteral studies to discover, synthesize, formulate etc NEW KNOWLEDGE.
*
In other words:
College educatiion makes you see what you need to see and makes you realize you know very little or NOTHING.
Masteral education makes you know more deeply what others know and wrote about. You get to know SOMETHING.
Doctoral studies equip you to and actually make you find, synthesize and formulate NEW knowledge from disciplined and scholarly research.
YOU GET TO PRODUCE NEW KNOWLEDGE.
You become equipped to know for yourself --- by yourself --- an NOT JUST RELY ON WHAT OTHERS ALREADY KNOW OR ARE TEACHING.
A -
Baka
I need to have my soul rest under the leadership of a really good pastor.
A -
kailangan mo munang -----sumakabilang-buhay!
Then you can really Rest In Peace.
Q - I'm a pastor of a small church. Any tip?
A -
Ang atupagin mo pamangkin ay kung paano magiging relevant, helpful, loving ang beneficial to people ang ministry mo. It is for God to give the growth!
A -
1.
Napag-uusapan lang sya tuloy, sometimes in a negative way.

A -
Mangyayari yan na walang personal fellwoships kung ikaw mismo ay hindi sasali sa mga small group activities and fellowships like Bible study groups, home groups, ministries, interest groups, etc.
Laging maraming small groups to join where closer fellowship and interpersonal relationships happen.
Siempre, mahirap mangyari yon during big events attended by a lot of people.
You need to do something so you could enjoy warm, personal relationships.
Ang dapat lang ay maraming small-group activites and fellowships that people could attend in addition to the big events where so many people are present.
A -
Be useful, not a user.
Maging asset, not a liability.
Tumulong at hwag laging patulong.
Give more than you take.
Be part of the solution, not the problem
Bawat ungrateful act tulad ng
- paglimot sa gumawa ng mabuti sa yo
- pagsukli ng masama sa mabuti
- masama/maling paggamit sa tulong na natanggap
ay
- nakadadala sa gumagawa ng mabuti.
- nakapapaso.
A -
Baka
or
Dahil kaya takot mautangan o mahingan?
A -
3.
Puede ring ang lifestyle nila ay iba na talaga at konti na lang ang commonalities nila with many relatives?

Q - Bakit po ang daming iba-ibang paniniwala based on the same Bible?
A -
Because agenda-driven "interpreters" and "advocates" and "theologians" and "expositors" and sects can find bits of verses here and there that they could twist, manipulate and reinvent/reinterpret to support what they believe in or what they LIKE to believe in and promote. Usually, they are selective, highlighting verses that they could use to support their ideology/philosophy/theology and IGNORE all other "dissenting" verses.
A skilled manipulator, speaking to uneducated/ untrained /uncritical audiences could teach nearly anything --- and find "supportive" verses to lean or stand on. Their unthinking followers become unwitting pawns in cruel religious chess games or blind soldiers in violent religious wars staged by manipulative ideologues / theologians ensconced in their congregational ivory towers
WHEN you want something from someone,
LISTEN well.
Your eagerness to get what you want might make you deaf
to that person's expressions of
- unwillingness
- disinterest
- incapacity
- refusal
to give you what you want.
Use the ministry to love people;
do not use people to love the ministry.
Etiquette Concerning Children
#1
Huwag silang pasabatin sa usapan ng matatanda.
Short greetings, konting kwento, etc are ok.
hindi appropriate as
they could say or ask things that might
- embarrass
- offend
or
- annoy
people!
While children should be trained to be outspoken and eloquent, ilagay sa lugar.
Sa classroom, puede.
sa very private family events, puede up to a point.
- restraint
- polite silence
- discretion
- good manners,
Proverbs 22:6 (CEV)
Teach your children
right from wrong,
and when they are grown
they will still do right
A -
FB Etiquette
#4 Do not post pictures of people's events like parties, celebrations, etc without their consent.
FB Etiquette
#2 Do not post pictures of people's private homes without their consent ---even, or especially if, you were a guest there.
FB Etiquette
#1 Do not post people's photos without their permission --- even if you were together in the picture
A -
Baka
I need to have my soul rest under the leadership of a really good pastor.
A -
kailangan mo munang -----sumakabilang-buhay!
Then you can really Rest In Peace
Q - I'm a pastor of a small church. Any tip?
A -
Ang atupagin mo pamangkin ay kung paano magiging relevant, helpful, loving ang beneficial to people ang ministry mo. It is for God to give the growth!
Q - Ano pong books in the Bible ang recommended nyong unahing basahin o basahing mabuting-mabuti?
A -
ECCLESIASTES
Proverbs
Song of Songs
MARK
Luke
Matthew
JOHN
Acts
Romans
GALATIANS
END OF THE WORLD
"End of the World"?
Na ang "End Times" daw po SA REVELATION ay hindi naman literally the end of the planet or the end of life on the planet sa we know it, but THE END OF A CERTAIN MINDSET /LIFESTYLE / EVEN RELIGIOUS or political SYSTEMS?
A -
Puede.
Kung "prophecy" naman kasi ang Revelation and was dealing with "future" events, any day or week or month or year after it was written would have been "futuristic" at the time it was written.
So, that "future" then could be a "past" by now.
Puede.
Ano ang puedeng pag-aralan na nagsasabing posibleng tapos na/nangyari na ang "end times" na tinutukoy sa Revelation and by now this is no longer something to happen in the future" ?

STUDY WELL AND THINK FOR YOURSELF
Kamag-anak ka dahil lang sa biological chance,
hindi personal choice ng relatives mo.
So do not feel entitled to use and abuse relatives
just because of blood relations.
Hindi ka nila piniling maging karelasyon
kaya wala silang obligasyon sa yo.
Earn / Deserve your privilege to be welcome in their lives
- makisama
- magbigay
- makibagay
- mag-estima
- etc.
So, DISTANCIA AMIGO/A.
Huwag laging bumalandra, kumalat at sumabit unless specifically invited.
Do not feel entitled to barge into people's private time and space and events just because you're a relative or a friend.
Wait to be invited.
RESIST THE URGE!
When you hear people MISpronounce a word,
resist the temptation to CORRECT them right then and there
by VOCALIZING the.... eehhhm.... "correct" pronunciation.
(Unless you are super close and/or there's no one else present)
You could embarrass or, worse, provoke them to anger.
Let a few moments pass before you dutifully
render THE correct enunciation in a subdued, non-attention-grabbing way.
Teachers, especially tactless ones , are not always loved!
Do I really have to sacrifice everything for them just because they are my family though they do not even care about me?
Heeelp! Wala pong kakwenta-kwenta ang mga kapamilya ko!
A -
No.
Be kind to your family but do not limit your world ---and devotion--- to them.
You get to belong to a family only because of biological sweepstakes.
Hindi mo yan choice; you get born into a family. But you need not die in it.
Develop good friendships/relations with people
- like you
- you like
- who like you --- kahit hindi mo kamag-anak.
They could even make better relations.
Yang pamilya kasi could feel ENTITLED to your kindness kahit hindi man lang sila nagsusukli.
Develop good friendships and enjoy relationships na gawa mo, hindi lang yung ASSIGNED to you by birth!
Proverbs 18:24 (CEV)
...a true friend is closer
than your own family.
*
Proverbs 27:10 (CEV)
...A friend nearby is better
than relatives far away.
MARAMI pang mahuhusay na tao outside of your family circle!
Ephesians 4:14 (CEV)
14 We must stop acting like children. We must not let deceitful people trick us by their false teachings, which are like winds that toss us around from place to place
Q - Ang Christian po ba dapat ding maging Jewish ang name, culture, lifestyle, calendar and festivals, and even attire?
A -
No need.
God created all peoples and nations and tribes. Therefore people should honor the Creator by keeping their identity and not be copycats of the Jews or of any other race/nation. Believers should know and make God known in the context of their own culture. In Christ, walang human culture ang spiritually superior or better than another.
Galatians 3:28 (CEV)
28 Faith in Christ Jesus is what makes each of you equal with each other, whether you are a Jew or a Greek, a slave or a free person, a man or a woman.
----------------------------
EQUAL na because of Christ, magpapa-under pa?
Revelation 7:9 (CEV)
9 After this, I saw a large crowd with more people than could be counted. They were from every race, tribe, nation, and language, and they stood before the throne and before the Lamb.
----------------------------
A -
Mayroong pre-disposed to think and believe a certain way and get attracted to certain schools of thought.
How to really purify the church and church methods?
Wala na lang kayang tithes and offerings!?
Walang fulltime/ swelduhang church workers!?
Walang payables like rent and utilities?
Para wala na lang usapang pera-pera?!
Magtiyaga na lang magtipun-tipon sa mga bahay-bahay,
silung-silong, gara-garahe, ilalim ng puno, etc?!
Simplehan tulad noong panahon ni Jesus?
The money issue breeds lots of troubles!
(And exploits / abuses many innocent believers!)
Mga ISMS na umuso, nanatili / lumaos, nagpa-asenso /nagpa-atras, nagpa-excite, nagpasigla, nanglito, nag-divide, nagpalago / nagpakonti, nagpatahimik/nanggulo etc etc sa Christian churches:

Anu-ano pa kaya?
AT NASAAN / ALIN dito TAYO NGAYON?
rayer / Wishes for the Christian Church
1. Gumamit
2. Walang
fulltime / salaried workers; puro doubly productive volunteers who have other professions/ sources of income para hindi laging may financial burdens and church -- at para walang gumawa ng ministry bilang hanapbuhay.
3. Walang
Easily adaptable!
4. Hindi
sobrang obsessed with non-stop offerings. Mag-contribute na lang pag may need.
Wala dapat surplus funds. Excess funds only become breeding grounds for abuse / corruption.
5. Tigilan
ng kakatawag na "wrong" or "demonic" ang may mga ibang interpretations and applications of Scriptures.
6. Walang
permanent leaders; papalit-palit every now and then.
Kasi puedeng kalawangin o tamarin ang maraming luma
tapos suppressed ang maiinit na bago.
Walang
9.Gamitin ang mas malaking bahagi ng funds sa social service, caring for the weak, the sick, the needy, for counseling too.
10. Maging mature
Nakakapagod sumagot paulit-ulit.
At puede ring intrusion into the patient's privacy na ang pagtatanong.
Sapat na ang
"Praying for you!"
"God bless you!"
or the like.
Tama na yung
Kumusta? / How are you? / What's the latest? (Unless you are super close and an active player in health management)
2. may only one monolithic religion for all, with absolute power over all people? (Agenda ng ilang groups)
3. wala na lang kahit anong organized religion? (Kanta ni John Lennon: "Imagine")
ESEP ESEP!
Q - Para pong walang kwentang friends ang mga relihiyoso;
A -
Hindi naman yan completely true!
99% lang yan totoo!
Hahahahahahahahaha!
Pag puro relihiyoso ang friends mo...
be ready to lose them when you fall!
Madalas talaga,conditional ang "love" nila.
Religious people usually KILL their wounded brethren.
Pinagpi-piyestahan nila ang nadadapa.
Ginigiba nila ang "nagkakamali" (per their standards).
nagiging "lover" of religion/ religious group nya
pero
hater of
- "sinners"
- people with other beliefs, and
competing other religious groups.
Dumadami ang kaaway at inaaway.
Q - Please compare Judaism and Christianity's teachings on eternal life/ salvation?
A -
SIMPLIFIED
1. In Christianity:
Salvation/Eternal Life is given as a free gift of God to ANYONE who believes in and accepts Jesus as God's son and man's savior.
Salvation is personal, a personal decision and choice.
IT IS FOR ANYONE WHO BELIEVES.
There is no need for cultural conversion.
You could be a Christian in your own cultural context.
The gospel of John emphasized this.
Romans and Galatians strongly taught this.
In Christianity, the Messiah has already come.
2. In Judaism:
Salvation is tribal, national, racial.
It is for the Jews.
One has to be a Jew to receive it.
That is why some people teach that Gentiles who seek salvation need to become Jewish.
Hopefuls resort to cultural conversion to Jewism.
PAUL VERY STRONGLY OPPOSED THIS TEACHING.
Also, Salvation in Judaism is by works:
One needs to accomplish all the requirements of the Law, including diets, ceremonies, festivals, etc.
In Judaism, the Messiah is still to come.
-------
IT SHOULD BE CLARIFIED IF THE JEWISH MESSIAH WHO IS STILL TO COME IS THE SAME CHRISTIAN MESSIAH WHO HAS ALREADY COME.
Obviously, magkaiba.
Kaya nga nireject si Jesus as Messiah kasi iba ang type of messiah that the Jews believe in.
Family or Ministry?
Q -
I am a young/new pastor. I believe that as a servant of the Lord, I must maintain a well balanced priorities between my Church Ministry and Family. So I have set aside a day for my Family (Family Day), but my other co-pastors make us feel that it is not right (Unbiblical). In spite that I offer most of my weekdays to the Church. (I am also currently an OFW). So what is your view about having time for the family? Which one must be prioritized, family or Church Ministry?
A -
Your family day is an excellent, beautiful, godly idea.
CONTINUE DOING IT.
AND HAVE MORE TIME WITH YOUR FAMILY.
Yung members nga ng church, siguradong may family dayS pa nga.
PAG NAGKASAKIT KA, NARATAY, NABUROL, ETC, family mo ang mananatali sa paligid mo araw-araw.
Church people will only visit you once or twice ---if they would visit you at all.
- contests.
- issues.
- burdens.
Kaya dapat more of Jesus and less of corporate, warlike religion.
To give rest from oppressive religiosity is a major concern of Jesus.
Matthew 11:28-30 (NIV)
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Huwag maging "extreme" --- kahit na sa ministry.
Godly people
- think balanced thoughts and
- live balanced lives!
Ecclesiastes 7:16-18
(NIV)
16 Do not be overrighteous,
neither be overwise—
why destroy yourself?
17 Do not be overwicked,
and do not be a fool—
why die before your time?
18 It is good to grasp the one
and not let go of the other.
Whoever fears God will avoid all extremes.
(CEV)
16 So don’t destroy yourself by being too good or acting too smart!
17 Don’t die before your time by being too evil or acting like a fool.
18 Keep to the middle of the road. You can do this if you truly respect God.
Q - Ang hirap pong dumaan sa hating-gabi, especially from 12midnight to about 3am.
A -
I have observed na iba ang emotions / thoughts sa mga oras na yan.
Usually mas sensitive, negative, scared, worried and prone to hopelessness.
KAYA SIKAPIN MONG ITULOG!
KAYA IWASANG GISING PA from 12mn-4pm.
A -
Meanwhile, magbakasyon na lang kayo paminsan-minsan sa maluwag at maganda but it's practical to live near work or school
Q - What can you recommend po na version ng Bible?
A -
Contemporary English Version is very simplified English and very easy to read.
Kambalan ng older versions like the New International Version,
New Revised Standard Version, New American Standard Version,
and Ang Bagong Magandang Balita Biblia, etc.
A -
So, EXPERIENCE the Holy Spirit in/through prayer, meditation and knowing and following the teachings of Jesus.
By following in the steps of Jesus, you get into a spiritual path and journey where the HS could be revealed to you progressively.
A -
Socialize, circulate, be in the market!
Be (more) interesting.
Maging attractive without looking cheap or eager
A -
Baka na-influence ang leadership nyo ng ibang religious thought or ibang religion all together pretending to be still Christian pero hindi na in truth?
A -
Kausapin mo si husband.
Tell him what you want/ need.
Pero daanin mo muna sa suggestions / requests with lots of humor para hindi naman mawasak ang ego nya.
A -
HINDI NAMAN plastik yun.
At least may good manners ka.
A -
good manners ang tawag don
A -
1. Find God's image in you--- find the "wonder" that God put in you -- and thank God for it.
2. Develop that wonder / gift / potential.
3. Be true to your natural self / talents/ gifting. Do not imitate other people. Be the best version of your true self.
4. Work well to be fruitful in at least on or several areas of your life. Fruitfulness will make you feel more confident and secure.
5. Forget the past ---or be free from it's dark memory and influence. Forgive people who have harmed you or caused you misery para lumaya ka na sa kanila.
A -
1. May personality problems: pasikat, pa-impress, maingay,Kailangan laging bida/ panalo sa usapan. minsan bitchy pa.
2. Sobrang saya ang peg. Hindi na makatotohanan.
3. Paminsan-minsan, nawawala sa sarili kahit may kasama / kausap.
4. Sensitive. Maramdamin. Demanding.
5. Mataray. Pala-away.
A -
Q - May nagasabi po na "You cannot remain gay and call yourself a Christian." How would you assess this statement?
A -
It's a statement --- of mentality, of belief, of an OPINION.
It is a personal opinion on what it takes and means to be "Christian".
It is an interpretation, an appropriation of belief.
Ibig nyang sabihin, being and remaining Christian is a result of one's
- effort at changing himself/herself into a mold /standard acceptable to a certain mentality, philosophy or belief.
- accomplishment.
- continuing effort and success at shaping/ reshaping personality to deserve the status of being Christian.
This is not what salvation by faith says.
Last time I looked, the status of being a child of God (or, extended, being "Christian") is to believe in and accept Jesus --- in spite of / no matter what you are.
There is no mention of personal effort or victory in changing oneself before one could be a child of God or remain a child of God.
It is the unconditional love and acceptance of God through Jesus that changes the status of people who believe.
John 1:12 (NIV)
12 Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—
-----
Kung gagamitin yung quoted sentence, dapat puede ring palitan yung word na "gay" ng words like proud or self- righteous or unkind or legalistic or cruel or violent or unloving, etc.
Example:
"You cannot remain
- gay or
- proud or
- arrogant or
- self-righteous or
- judgemental or
- sectarian or
- selfish or
- untruthful or
- a liar or
- a cheater or a thief or dishonest or
- unkind or
- UNLOVING
and call yourself a Christian."
Last time I looked,
it is love, NOT ONE'S GENDER or orientation or other personal traits, that is the distinction of true believers / "Christians".
John 13:35 (CEV)
35 If you love each other, everyone will know that you are my disciples.
- Jesus.
1 John 4:7-8 (NIV)
7 Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. 8 Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
Partners, ask each other this question everyday:
"WHAT DO YOU WANT?"
Mean it.
Sincerely do your best to give your partner what she/wants
as much as your physical strength and spirituality will allow.
Ask this instead of insist on getting from your partner what you want.
When both of you do this --- ask the other what he/wants ---
your relationship will be sweeter, nicer and stronger!
ETIQUETTE

Etiquette For Dalaw sa Ospital:
Respect their privacy.
Huwag nang dumagdag sa magdurumi ng banyo.
Use the hospital's public toilets.
Kung may dapat magsabi sa isang tao na tumataba / bumibigat sya o lumalaki ang tiyan nya, give the unpleasant task to the
- weighing scale or
- the belt.
Huwag ikaw.
You will be hated!
Di po ba real beauty is deep inside?
A -
- medical internist na makakakita sa "what is deep inside you",
or
- a prophet who can see your heart/spirit deep inside,
Yes, beauty is only skin deep, but would you hope/like to be noticed because of your very beautiful .......intestines???
Q - Ano po ang dapat gawin o sabihin pag may mga makamandag na religious critics from other churches na walang ginawa kundi i-criticize ang ayaw nila sa pinaniniwalaan, sinasabi o itinuturo ko?
A -
Kung convinced ka in your heart and mind na tama ang sinasabi mo (na ayaw nila),
# paniwalaanpamore!
# sabihinpamore!
# ituropamore!
Hahahahahahahahah!
Pray na maunawaan nila. Malay mo, they could also be "set free"?
Wag na wag manahimik just to please your detractors.
BUT DO YOUR BEST TO "SPEAK YOUR TRUTH QUIETLY AND CLEARLY..."
Just speak. No need to be quarrelsome or aggresive.
FREE WILL?
A -
Bihira lang yung moments na nag-i-interfere ang God ---perhaps to accomplish a specific desired end.
Biblical at logical na most of the time ay may free will ang tao.
However, puedeng masabing walang total free will when it comes to genetics.
There are people whose genetic composition, like their biological, in-bon nature limits their choices within how they were "made". ............................. Psalm 139:14-16 (NIV)
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be. ................................................................. --------
This says that mayrong pre-ordination according to how one is genetically or biologically composed.
One could not help be be his/her natural, in-born self.
Matthew 19:12 (NIV)
"...For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”
-----
How could a eunuch change himself if he was born that way?
Only eunuchs who have become eunuchs by their free choice/ will or by nurture/conditioning/ training could be changed because what is learned could be unlearned.
But eunuchs born that way cannot be expected to change themselves or to be changed by others or by any other means...............................................................
-----------------------------
Jeremiah 13:23 (NIV)
Can an Ethiopian[a] change his skin or a leopard its spots?
-----------------------------
In fact, if they were made that way, changing them would only oppose the will of God who made them that way.
WITH FREE WILL, ONE COULD CHOOSE AND CHANGE MANY THINGS. BUT THERE ARE THINGS THAT ARE BEYOND FREE WILL --- hindi personal choice kaya hindi puedeng baguhin ---like the in-born nature of people.
A -
The problem with many teachings on heaven and hell is the very narrow, sectarian and controlling definition attached to what heaven and hell are, where they are and who goes/what it takes to go there.
Many "theologies" on heaven and hell are actually shaped, not by Jesusness but by Greekness or Dante's Inferno-ness.
Ie: More than the teachings of Jesus. ancient Greek and Dante's Infernos concepts of hell inform /and shape many so-called Christian theologies
Is it
Education?
Training?
Communication skills?
Official religious title?
Success and size of ministry?
Statement of Faith?
Affiliation to big congregations?
Others?
A -
LOVE.
Unang hanapin kung loving sya.
Kung loving ang teachings and ways of his church.
God is love.
Jesus is love.
LOVE is the most important teaching and practice.
1 Corinthians 13:13 (CEV)
For now there are faith,
hope, and love.
But of these three,
the greatest is love.
---------------------------
1 John 4:7-8 (CEV)
7 My dear friends, we must love each other. Love comes from God, and when we love each other, it shows that we have been given new life. We are now God’s children, and we know him. 8 God is love, and anyone who doesn’t love others has never known him
A -
A -
Tell them off.
Barahin.
Kagatin mo sa bumbunan?!
Sometimes, the best way to forget the one
is to have another one. smile emoticon
PS
Iba ang case ng married "someones" ha!
Mga taong nakakapagod kasama:
1. Always talking nonstop
2. Laging naka-kontra
3. Isa lang ang topic forever
4. Laging tahimik, pakikiramdaman at ine-entertain pa!
5. Laging may performance, pa-impress, pa-smart
6. Sobrang religious / "righteous"
Always has the "final say".
8. Ayaw padaig; laging dapat sya ang star.
Kapuuuy!
Q - Ano po ang masasabi nyo tungkol sa government employees na dahil sa kanilang religious convictions ay ayaw nilang sundin ang policies and regulations ng government at ayaw nilang mag-function or mag-serve sa public when it is against their personal religious convictions?
A -
Resign from government service!
Civil servants are paid by government to function according to the policies, regulations and purposes of the State/ government office.
They are there as paid civil servants, NOT as representatives or advocates of their religion.
They are there to function under the spirit of the Constitution, not their respective religious books.
They may stand for and implement their religious beliefs/conscience IN their religious community or private life but NOT in /from /through their public office.
Imagine all the chaos that could happen if people from various religious backgrounds manned city hall and insisted on functioning according to their variant individual religious conscience?
When established beliefs are challenged,
the believer
- digs into his faculties to strengthen his faith, or
- buries his head in the sand and acts like it's business as usual, or
- gets weakened when he is unable to "defend" his stand, or
- attacks the messenger.
Matthew 7:6 (NIV)
“Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.
--------
Dogs and pigs do not recognize sacred and precious things;
they get offended by these.
All they want is dog or swine food
Q - Bakit po maraming secret societies of thinkers, philosophers, etc especially in the past?
A -
The highly enlightened, super intelligent or very very spiritual are never understood nor accepted by the general populace, especially by the Religious Establishment.
Common people usually
- laugh at genius
- deride high consciousness,
- demonize what they cannot understand
- destroy the intellectually superior.
The very religious usually attack the truly spiritual.
In the same way, Israel killed her prophets.
As Jesus says in
Luke 13:34 (CEV)
34 Jerusalem, Jerusalem! Your people have killed the prophets and have stoned the messengers who were sent to you. I have often wanted to gather your people, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. But you wouldn’t let me.
*
Acts 7:52(CEV)
Is there one prophet that your ancestors didn’t mistreat?
-----------------
So, many highly evolved minds go underground, in the comfort and security of seclusion and secrecy.
A -
Eh di wag mong tanggapin yung parts na ayaw mo,
but accept all other parts na sabi mo nga ay napakabibllical and godly.
DO NOT MEASURE PREACHERs /PASTORs / TEACHERs by their isolated, unusual, unconventional remarks.
Consider their batting average, their general stand and teachings over a long stretch of time. Respect their track record.
Madalas, ang sinasabi ng tao ay hindi naman life principle kundi snaphots of very recent/current thinking that need not be feared as permanent and to-die-or-kill-for doctrine!
"Even a good horse must be allowed at least one fall." smile emoticon
- An Arab proverb
A -
Because agenda-driven "interpreters" and "advocates" and "theologians" and "expositors" and sects can find bits of verses here and there that they could twist, manipulate and reinvent/reinterpret to support what they believe in or what they LIKE to believe in and promote.
Use the ministry to love people;
do not use people to love the ministry.

ESEP ESEP!
Q - Para pong walang kwentang friends ang mga relihiyoso;
A -
Hindi naman yan completely true!

14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be. ................................................................. --------
This says that mayrong pre-ordination according to how one is genetically or biologically composed.
--------
Dogs and pigs do not recognize sacred and precious things;
they get offended by these.
