“DAGDAG-BAWAS?”
Q - Di po ba sabi sa Bible bawal magbawas o magdagdag sa words in the Bible? So dapat sundin lahat ng laws and commands sa Old Testament?
A -
SINUNOD BA NI JESUS LAHAT NG OT LAWS AND COMMANDS?
Obviously NOT.
(While most of the contents of the OT came from the Jewish Scriptures, marami pa ring parts ng Jewish Scriptures ang WALA sa Old Testament. So by that logic ay puedeng masabing nagbawas ang OT from the original Jewish Scriptures.)
2. AND TALKING ABOUT DAGDAG-BAWAS, any student will see how much of the Law was changed, trimmed, updated and reinterpreted by Jesus ---tulad ng ginawa ni Jesus sa Sabbath, Dietary Laws, Purification laws, regulations on Jews and Gentiles, women, etc. KASI KUNG WALA NAMANG BABAGUHIN /PAPALITAN / IIBAHIN SA LAW, BAKIT PA DUMATING SI JESUS AT NAGBAYAD NG BUHAY to set people free from the Law?
In fact sabi ng
Ephesians 2:14-15 CEV
.. Christ gave his own body to destroy the Law of Moses with all its rules and commands...
HINDI LANG YAN DAGDAG-BAWAS, "DESTROY" pa. At yun ang tunay na ibig sabihin ng "Jesus came to fulfill the Law." Ipinakita nya ang ibang paraan ng pag-fulfill sa Law: by making its interpretation and application LOVING, user-friendly, caring, and SAVING, NOT CONDEMNING.
Kaya hate ng mga Pharisees and Teachers of the Law si Jesus at ipinapatay pa nila.
Kahit sa lahat ng panahon, Pharisees hate Jesus /Jesusness kasi overly loyal sila sa Law at sa traditional, literal reading of it.
