Q -I do not mean to sound legalistic or anything but I'm a bit concerned with my Christian friends who deliberately take quizzes and share them on FB. I'm concerned because they take part in Greek Mythology (gods/goddessess) then they'd remark - :I knew I'm a Venus god! They would also share Mythical creatures, Harry Potter, etc. I just read you comment on Maleficient. Pardon me if I'm sounding Holier Than Thou type, but I've always believe that if it doesn't glorify God at all, I stay away from it. I've learned my lesson . Shouldn't we be more careful as Christians in what we share on FB or Twitter? If it doesn't edify, uplift or encourage people to draw near to God, why should we even take such quizzes and worst share them?
A - Have you seen the movie? Have you reviewed its content?
It's moral lesson is very clear, except that it does not speak churchy language.
I believe I know my Bible and its content. I also know my literature. Also my social sciences. And I really do not see anything dangerous in the movie, my dear brother.
Q - as an artist i love the cinematography, production design and performances of actors. i love the plot as well. im just a bit concerned on the issues of revenge and the origins of the story.
A - The Bible itself is full of those themes!
Q - thats true. in fact with the greek gods and goddesses, i studied those in college and even acted in one or two productions
A - In the end, bad is punished and good is restored. Except that the metaphors are not churchy

A - It really would not push Jesus' agenda if Christians always demonized everything that is not decidedly religious in form.

A - NOt untreasonable...but let us not underestimate people's capacity to read metaphor.

A - It also overglorifies the devil ...as if he was omnipresent, omnipotent and omniscient....actually we all know that those qualities are God's.

A - To credit to the devil nearly all literature, movies, media, etc is to over rate him and to give him a position that belongs only to God!

A - Dont worry, the devil is only at one place at one time! though ironically, it Christians that scare themselves with the omnipresence they awarded to him.
Q - God is sovereign and He can overturn whatever the devil has done
A - Many religious groups feed people's fears. That makes them feel important and needed.
