A -
Wala kang matitirang friend kahit isa?!
Very few forces could be more enlightening ---or blinding ---than religious belief!
Religionists could be the best --- or worst --- creatures on the planet.
Religious belief and conviction could make believers
- angelic and saintly to fellow believers
while
-demonic to "unbelievers" or people with different belief.
A -
A -
Many religions like to dominate or influence government.
- nila member
- close sa kanila
- nila madidiktahan.
It would be more patriotic to say "Vote candidates with solid achievements and track record in public service."
A murderer could kill many ways:
1. Shoot you directly.
2. Drug you so you begin a nearly irreversible slide to death.
3. Steal your food, drink, medicine, clothing and shelter.
including your dignity, ambition and hope.
Steal from you that you are driven to lifelong slavery.
4. Deprive you of justice and opportunity to realize your fullest potentials.
5. Kill you softly, slowly with indifference, callousness, neglect and ineptness.
Murder has many faces --- and methods.
MARAMING MURDERERS, hindi lang agad halata.
Q - New pastor po ako Tito.
A -
Preach, teach and pastor to make people
- kind, not unkind.
- accepting of others, not rejecting.
- understanding of others, not judgmental and condemning.
- polite, not rude even to those with different religious belief.
- rest in God's love and forgiveness, not stressed with guilt trips.
- restful and peaceful about the future, not scared and anxious.
- love and appreciate God, not to make them always scared of God.
- like Jesus, not like the Pharisees.
Amos 3:3 (NIV)

A Pharisee and a Sinner
*
Luke 18:9-14 (CEV)
Jesus told a story to some people who thought they were better than others and who looked down on everyone else:
Two men went into the temple to pray. One was a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood over by himself and prayed, “God, I thank you that I am not greedy, dishonest, and unfaithful in marriage like other people. And I am really glad that I am not like that tax collector over there. I go without eating[d] for two days a week, and I give you one tenth of all I earn.”
The tax collector stood off at a distance and did not think he was good enough even to look up toward heaven. He was so sorry for what he had done that he pounded his chest and prayed, “God, have pity on me! I am such a sinner.”
Then Jesus said, “When the two men went home, it was the tax collector and not the Pharisee who was pleasing to God.
If you put yourself above others, you will be put down. But if you humble yourself, you will be honored.”

Bumato yung walang kasalanan!
*
John 8:7 (CEV)
They kept on asking Jesus about the woman. Finally, he stood up and said, “If any of you have never sinned, then go ahead and throw the first stone at her!”
*
*
Matthew 7:3-5 (CEV)
You can see the speck in your friend’s eye, but you don’t notice the log in your own eye. How can you say, “My friend, let me take the speck out of your eye,” when you don’t see the log in your own eye? You’re nothing but show-offs! First, take the log out of your own eye. Then you can see how to take the speck out of your friend’s eye.
*
Paul said it.
A friend applied it to himself.
Mainam makigaya at i-apply din sa sarili:
1 Timothy 1:15 (CEV)
“Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners.” This saying is true, and it can be trusted. I was the worst sinner of all!
Q - Bakit po si David sa Bible pagkarami-raming pinatay na kalaban ng State at super babaero, ang daming asawa, pero tinawag pa rin na "A man after God's own heart?"
A -
Because deep down in his heart, despite his combat record and weakness/ love for women, ay talagang kita ng Langit na godly pa rin talaga sya?
Acts 13:22 (NIV)
After removing Saul, he made David their king. God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do.’
*
Diyos na ang may sabi nyan.
Note:
The focus was on David doing what God wants done;
not on David's other deeds/ possible mistakes.
In other words,
what really mattered was the good he did,
not the wrong that he did (also).
A -
Gender / Sexuality is clinically determined by the sexual organs.
Sexual organs are for sexual reproduction.
In heaven, people do not
- indulge in sex
- reproduce
- get married.
So walang need for gender.
--------------------------------------------------
Mark 12:25 (CEV) Jesus:
When God raises people to life, they won’t marry.
They will be like the angels in heaven.
---------------------------------------------------
So posibleng walang sexual organs / gender sa heaven kahit mga angels.
Maaaring walang sexuality ang spiritual beings.
They are only presented in human language with gender identity kasi alangan namang "It" ang pronoun? Kaya ginagawang "He"?
Pag-aralan pa. Suriin.

A - Ano po ba ang tamang spelling, Malacañang o Malacañan?
A -
- Lumbang = Lumban

MALACAÑANG and the AMERICANS
William Francis (Frank) Murphy (April 13, 1890 - July 19, 1949) was the last American Governor-General of the Philippines. He and his family were the occupants of Malacañang Palace from 1933-1935.
Upon the ascent of Manuel L. Quezon as the first president of the Philippine Commonwealth in 1935, he fought fiercely for Malacañang to be the residence of the First Filipino Family as the Americans did not really want to surrender the palace and wanted their top “overseer” to be the one to reside there despite a Filipino president! Quezon insisted on occupying the palace very especially for its symbolic value: Malacañang should be for the Filipino First Family!
Like independence, Malacañang was won, and even the Armed Forces headquarters Camp Murphy was renamed Camp Aguinaldo in 1935 and Fort McKinley became Fort Bonifacio.
Now, after 80 years of being exclusive to the First Filipino Family, the Palace could be retaken by Americans IF an American Family wins the Philippine presidency!
How could Filipinos forget how much blood was sacrificed by their forefathers in their fight against American occupation?
“Between the years 1899 and 1913 the United States of America wrote the darkest pages of its history. The invasion of the Philippines__ for no other reason than acquiring imperial possessions, prompted a fierce reaction of the Filipino people. 126,000 American soldiers were brought in to quell the resistance. As a result, 400,000 Filipino "insurrectos" died under the American fire and one million Filipino civilians died because of the hardship, mass killings and scorched earth tactics carried out by the Americans. In total the American war against a peaceful people who fairly ignored the existence of the Americans until their arrival wiped out 1/6 of the population of the country.”
- The Filipino Genocide
IRONY of ironies: Today a disturbingly big chunk of the Filipino voting populace seems poised to ignore their heroes’ ultimate sacrifices to win and keep Malacañang for Filipinos. They seem dangerously inclined to voluntarily surrender not only Malacañang but the Presidency to Americans!
I could hear President Quezon's trademark expletive echoing in the hallowed halls of Malacañang: "P_Ñ_T_ !"
A -
Samantala, all other films mentioned are based on other historical writings and points of view NOT from Aguinaldo or the Magdalo faction of the Katipunan that he led.
BONIFACIO died too early, too soon. He was unable to write from his point of view. He had no direct voice in writing history. But his widow
GREGORIA DE JESUS, Lakambini ng Katipunan, wrote her memoirs
and so did many other revolutionaries.
Since Aguinaldo had a very long (and still influential) life, most "official" history books and textbooks left that dark, painful, nakakahiyang episode in our history BLANK.
John 8:36 (CEV)
If the Son gives you freedom, you are free!
PROBLEM:
Modern-Day Pharisees take away freedom in Jesus
and imprison their followers all over again,
placing heavy burdens of legalism and obsolete religious laws
on the shoulders of their innocent victims.
*
Luke 11:46 (CEV)
Jesus replied:
You teachers are also in for trouble! You load people down with heavy burdens, but you won’t lift a finger to help them carry the loads.
Q - How can I know God?
A -
HOW TO KNOW GOD?
1. Know that God is Universal: above and beyond all
- creation,
- persons, families, tribes, nations
- created things, including religious scriptures, literature, doctrines
- religious practices, groups, sects, denominations, religions
- conceptualization, imagination, interpretation, simplification or
complexification or formulation of man
- representation, presentation, symbolization, idolization /
interpretation / misinterpretation and misrepresentation of man.
BEFORE
- MAN
- TRIBES
- NATIONS
- RELIGIONS
WAS GOD!
2. Know God
through SOME teachings of religion but also know God
INSPITE OF / beyond / outside of the oversimplification,
domestication, tailor-suiting, franchising and owning /
self- appropriation of religions.
RELIGIONS TEND TO OWN GOD,
making God tribal or national or denominational.
As such, God becomes just a god:
a god who is tribal, partisan, political, denominational -- a god of only a "select"
few!
A GOD WHO TAKES SIDES IN HUMAN CONFLICTS COULD BE
NO MORE THAN AN APPROPRIATED, exploited god:
claimed, owned and used by a tribe or a nation for
self- preservation, self-promotion, and self-glorification.
A GOD USED BY ONE TRIBE AGAINST ANOTHER
could NOT be the true, universal God who is Creator and God of ALL.
At best, that god is only local/tribal.
At best, that god is just an invention or a reinvention of a tribe
that serves only its own interest. A manufactured god. An idol.
3. Know GOD
through Creation as it best mirrors a more believable and understandable image of the Creator.
*
Know God though religious belief BUT ALSO know God through
his creation and creative genius ---outside of religious dogma!
Know God also through SCIENCE.
SCIENCE COULD BE GOD'S LAST ---and most truthful ---PROPHET!
*
*
Creation cannot know and understand the Creator beyond the limits set by how Creation was designed.
But still Creation can know and understand the Creator in many and great ways.
ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO KNOW GOD IS TO SET GOD'S TRUE IMAGE FREE FROM THE physical and/ or mental/conceptual / theological IDOLS CREATED BY RELIGION.
THEOLOGIES COULD BE THE WORST IDOLS MEN MAKE OF GOD.
Partisan theologies could localize, tribalize, denominationalize, franchise, diminish, trivialize and vandalize GOD.
Beware of a branded god; the true GOD is most probably generic.
HAPPY RESURRECTION SUNDAY, EVERYONE!
Mark 16:1-7 (CEV)
Jesus Is Alive
16 After the Sabbath, Mary Magdalene, Salome, and Mary the mother of James bought some spices to put on Jesus' body. 2 Very early on Sunday morning, just as the sun was coming up, they went to the tomb. 3 On their way, they were asking one another, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance for us?” 4 But when they looked, they saw that the stone had already been rolled away. And it was a huge stone!
5 The women went into the tomb, and on the right side they saw a young man in a white robe sitting there. They were alarmed.
6 The man said, “Don’t be alarmed! You are looking for Jesus from Nazareth, who was nailed to a cross. God has raised him to life, and he isn’t here. You can see the place where they put his body. 7 Now go and tell his disciples, and especially Peter, that he will go ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there, just as he told you.”
A -
2. Anong tunay na kulay? Yung political color nya?
Every citizen is entitled to political color.

A -
Working to support one's family, and staying employed by working when asked by the employer is also "seeking the kingdom of God."
The "Kingdom of Heaven" is NOT ONLY in the corporate activities of religious congregations.
The "kingdom of God" is also about doing what is good, what is needed so God's will (like having livelihood, food, and other needed) can happen in people's lives.
The Kingdom of God is not a place or a group or specific group activities; it is the REIGN OF GOD IN PEOPLE'S HEARTS. When people let God rule their lives, and that includes working for food or other needs, they actually follow the kingdom of God.
To "seek first the kingdom of God" is not limited to formal religious/sectarian activities.
Make the church more accessible to people whose jobs require them to work on days of church activities?
A -
Huh!? Last time I looked, lahat ng araw ay gawa ng Diyos.
Noong unang panahon nga, Saturday lang ang inituring na day of worship.
Tapos pumasok ang Sunday.
At pano na yung mga congregations sa Middel East na Friday ang walang pasok sa trabaho = ginagawang day of worship. WALA RING BISA yun?

Proverbs 11:13 (NIV)
A gossip betrays a confidence,
but a trustworthy person keeps a secret
Their very limited vision makes them opinionated, biased, legalistic, formalistic, self-righteous and judgmental of others.
Indeed, "liitle knowledge is dangerous
Acts 7:48-50 (CEV)
48 But the Most High God doesn’t live in houses made by humans. It is just as the prophet said, when he spoke for the Lord,
49 “Heaven is my throne,
and the earth
is my footstool.
What kind of house
will you build for me?
In what place will I rest?
50 I have made everything.
A -
But people have to contend with realities on the ground.

A -
A -
Working to support one's family, and staying employed by working when asked by the employer is also "seeking the kingdom of God."
